To consistently and effectively support the expansion of statewide tourism impact, Tourism Development Unit staff members work with Maryland communities, organizations and individuals to promote the growth of tourism programs, product and businesses. Services include strategic planning assistance, assistance with identifying funding sources, and as liaisons with other local state and federal agencies.
Outreach and partnership programs are designed to grow tourism sales tax revenues, based on consumer research and defined by the tourism industry as need arises. While this program is managed under Tourism Development, it is an office-wide effort that deploys expertise as needed to implement the annual marketing and development plan. Future information will include a summary of projects in which OTD team works either directly or in partnership with other agencies or groups.
