Governor Larry Hogan Swears in New Secretary of Commerce Kelly M. Schulz

In a private ceremony held in Annapolis on January 9 ahead of the start of the 2019 General Assembly session, Governor Larry Hogan swore in Kelly M. Schulz as Maryland’s Secretary of Commerce. Secretary Schulz comes to Commerce from her previous position as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. “Secretary Schulz is a strong advocate for Maryland’s job creators, and has a proven track record of working directly with our business community to create jobs, enhance economic growth, and expand opportunity for both businesses and workers,” said Governor Hogan. “I know that Kelly will be instrumental in ensuring that we build on our incredible progress.”

“Business leaders’ number one concern is ensuring they have access to a talented workforce,” said Secretary Schulz, “and I am incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to do thanks to Governor Hogan’s leadership to prepare Maryland workers for 21st century jobs.”
