Secretary of Commerce Kelly Schulz Opens Bay Bridge Boat Show

Boat shows returned to Annapolis as the Bay Bridge Boat Show, which ran April 15-18, combined the area’s traditional spring power and sail shows into the largest in-water show in the region. Maryland Secretary of Commerce Kelly Schulz was on hand to address the crowd and cut the ribbon opening the show.

“We are thrilled to have the boat shows back again,” said Secretary Schulz. “In total, they support hundreds of jobs, help area non-profits raise more than $250,000 and have a total economic impact of $112 million.” She added, “Boating is big business in Maryland, both as a maritime activity and also as a huge part of our state’s tourism industry. Its annual economic impact tops $3.5 billion, and it supports more than 1,000 businesses and 18,000 jobs – contributing to our overall tourism economic impact of $19 billion.” For more on boating in Maryland, follow the link below to Visitmaryland.org.
